Season Deer Hunting Leases in East Texas!
We have leased a limited number of tracts of land,
primarily in East Texas, in Harrison, Smith, Upshur,
Marion, Bowie, Panola, Franklin, Gregg, and Cass counties for deer,
quail, ducks, squirrel, dove, and feral hog hunting.
These are privately
owned tracts, some of which may have not been recently
hunted. (These are not
paper company leases that have received a lot of
hunting pressure.) We currently have
several hundreds of acres available for immediate lease.
We also have a limited number of day leases available,
for this season. Prices start at $75 per day in the
pineywoods of East Texas. We also
have special discounts and prices for groups.
We also have special guided hunts for corporate clients.
We can take all of the hassle out of your corporate
hunting trips. We can set up your lease with stands,
transportation, and guides to give your clients a
hassle free hunting experience. Prices available
on an individual basis.
Our season leases are located in East Texas as far
south as Panola county and as for north as Bowie
County. We have leases available on both
the north and south side of Lake of the Pines.
We also have leases available east of Jefferson,
Texas, near the Louisiana border. (Your wife will
love the antique shops and bed and breakfast
places in Jefferson, Texas!) She can shop
while you hunt.
(P.S. We are
only six or seven hours down Interstate 20 from
Alabama!) If you have never
hunted Texas-this is your year!
These leases are near towns like Lodi, Smithland,
Dekalb, Hallsville, Harleton, Jefferson, McCleod,
Kildare, Avinger, Lasater, Carthage, and other similar
towns that are famous in their area for big deer and
lots of wild feral hogs.
These leases will be on a first come first served
basis. You will have a one-year or less lease, with an
option for renewal of an additional one-year lease.
Full payment for the lease for the current year
will be due upon the date signing and reserving
the lease. Renewal lease payments will be due
February 1 each year following the initial signing
dates. The term of the lease will be
from the date the lease is signed, and money paid, and
ending February 1.
These are small tracts of land from 50 acres to
1000 acres. Each tract of land will be leased
to a group of hunters, with approximately 50
acres per hunter. Each group will be responsible
for their own lease. In other words, you can
choose who is on the lease and not have to hunt
with a group of strangers. You set your own
rules about size of deer to kill and generally
what hunting rules you want to adopt for your
own lease.

Although these tracts are not connected, many are
close enough
together that you can hunt several tracts from
a central camp. Smaller tracts of land
can be grouped together for larger groups.
We also have tracts of land available as a
member of a hunting club, where you can hunt
larger tracts of land without having to get
a group together. Prices are in the $500 per
year range.
Prices for year around leases
will vary from $450 per gun up to $700 per gun,
depending on number of hunters that can safely
hunt, size of acreage, layout of the lease, type
of cover and food available on the leases and
amount of game available on the leases. We only
lease land that we have personally scouted for
game.
Day leases start at $75 per day, with special discounts
and group rates available. (You can hunt wild
feral hogs year around for $75 per day, per hunter
with minimum of 2 day hunts.)
You can set your own rules, within legal bounds, for
harvesting deer size and quantity, and within the rules
of the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department. Each person
can hunt and harvest the legal
number of deer allowed in that county under state and
federal rules. You need to check current regulations
at the time you are hunting for game. Currently the
buck limit is one buck in most if not all of these
counties. Rumor has it that this will be changed
by the time hunting season arrives for 1999. It is
possible we may have doe permits available on some
of the leases for this coming year.
We
encourage game management rules. This is the
type of hunting lease that you can develop into
a really trophy hunting lease, by not taking
young undeveloped deer and allowing them to reach
maturity that will develop into really monster
bucks. Some of these tracts are also near other
tracts of land that are virtually unhunted,
so you never know what type of bucks may be
coming your way. Many a Boone & Crockett or Pope
and Young class deer have been killed that wandered
off of private land. We encourage planting
wildlife food plots and year around feeding programs.
There are no camp houses currently on the leases,
so you will need to make plans to furnish your own
camping and lodging facilities. Any camping or other
facilities must be considered portable, and
capable of being moved at the end of the lease. There
are companies available that will furnish portable
camping buildings for your deer lease.
We are only a few miles from hotel, motels and lodges
in the area, with very competitive winter
rates. There are also numerous restaurants and
eating places within a short driving distance. For
example, there is a fine restaurant within a short
driving distance that serves outstanding whole
catfish and catfish filets. (We are less than an
hour from the world famous Reo Palm Isle Country
Music Dancing with Live bands in Longview, Texas and
about an hour from the Riverboat Casinos in Shreveport
and Bossier City, Louisiana.)
These are primarily tracts of land that have been
harvested for timber, some of which have been
replanted. Some tracts will have thick regrowth
of underbrush in clear cut areas. This
is prime deer and hog habitat. Some of the tracts
border on Utility or Corp of Engineers Property, that
does not allow hunting. This is almost like being
next to a game preserve. By utilizing feeding programs
and feed plots, additional deer can be attracted to
your deer lease from these protected areas and other
unhunted tracts nearby.
These tracts of land are ideal for family hunting
camps, where you can bring your friends and family
and not have to hunt public lands, or the national
forests. Having hunted Davy Crockett National Forest
for a number of years, we know how crowded and unsafe
public hunting lands can be.
We can arrange to show these properties at any
time. The earlier you look, the
better selection of leases that will be available.
You need to have your group ready to pay their
money at the time of looking at the leases. These
leases are on a first to pay basis. You don't
want to spend time looking for a lease and have
someone else lease it the next day before you
can contact your hunting buddies.
You can contact us for information by email:
Please furnish name, email address, and phone numbers,
for day and night contact. Please make sure your
email address is correct and also put it in the
body of your email letter. We get lots of email
inquiries that we are unable to contact.
We look forward to hunting with you.
